Island Hopping

This weekend I hopped on a plane xbox in hand and headed to Cayman Brac.

There really isn't much to do on Cayman Brac besides lounging by the pool, driving out the island and exploring caves. Rumor has it there are over 100 caves situated on this little Island that literally stands still. I only remembered the name of the two caves we visited; Bat Cave which is home to one type of bat called Brown Bat and Rebbeca's Cave a little girl's resting place that died during a hurricane.

Note to self when exploring caves or going on any type of adventure wear proper shoes and bring a flash light.

I personally think Cayman Brac is depressing. It reminds me of the backdrop you would see in an old western movie, or how Tom Hanks felt stranded on an island talking to his best friend Wilson the volleyball. Everything felt like it was moving at a snail pace. If you saw two cars pass you by in a space of an hour consider yourself lucky; its a reminder that you're not alone.

There was one main highlight of this trip that made it worthwhile for me besides the amazing sunset I witnessed; it was the Bluff, one word to capture this beast "breathtaking"  considering that the Bluff was first an island until the waters disappeared and we're left with what stands in the middle of the island.

I don't think I'll visit Cayman Brac again; but I do feel everyone should visit this sister island at least once in their lifetime just to see, feel, experience what a snails pace is like.

I'm just glad I had the foresight to bring my xbox along on this journey made the trip worthwhile.
