bad boys, bad boys what you going do when they come for you ....

About four of my friends and I were walking home after midnight on Friday we usually meet up to play games and hang out. We were all laughing, joking and play fighting basically being boys and minding our own business when out of nowhere flashing lights came on and the “whir whir” of police sirens could be heard. About two police cars blew past us.

We were slightly confused when one of the police cars pulled over and a burly Police Officer came out. He looked to be 7ft and 300 lbs – I laughed to myself thinking “imagine him trying to catch us if we all decided to bolt”

Even though he was huge he didn’t intimidate us but we were a bit nervous anyone who listens or watches the news knows about the whole racial profiling in the United States and of black men being killed in cold blood by the police.

We were polite to the Police Officer as he approached us asking where we were coming from as it was late. We explained to him that we usually hang out on Firday nights to play games and as we all are from the same neighbourhood we were trying to make it home.

We then asked the Police Officer what all the commotion was about he only walked away and said “you gentleman walk straight home”.

I wanted to say “punk that’s where we were headed before you stopped us”

Why is it that adults in authority feel like they don’t have to answer to kids?

The Weekend World wide

So you think you’re having a bad day, weekend, month, life. This week at school was pretty tough for me. Surrounded by adults that accuse you and throw daggering glances. I thought I had problems but I was reminded that ‘if we all were to put our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back’.
In California fire authorities found a corpse in a burned out section of a forest. The deceased male was dressed in a full wet suite, complete with scuba tank, flippers and face mask. A postmortem later determined that the man did not die from burns, or smoke inhalation, but from massive internal injuries. After further investigation it was revealed that on the day of the fire, the man was diving twenty miles from the forest fire. The fire fighters seeking to control the fire called in a fleet of helicopters with large buckets to be used to collect water and dump it at the fire site. In addition to filling the bucket with water they also collected the unsuspecting diver. That day water and the diver were emptied at the site of the forest fire.
A woman came home from work to find her husband shaking uncontrollably in the kitchen; he had some sort of wire running from his waist towards the electric kettle. In an effort to save her husband from the deadly current she hit him with a rolling pin breaking his arm and cracking a rib. Up to that moment the husband was happily listening to his Walkman.

There are so many stories of people having a bad day, weekend, month, life. Some stories are extremely dramatic while others make you roll on the floor and laugh your head off. At the end of the day for those of us that are lucky we get another twenty-four hours of a new day to make better choices and dodge any drama that we might find ourselves in.

"WEEKEND its been so long - nice to see you Buddy".

That is always my reaction at the end of the school day on a Friday. This Friday was no exception. First Friday back to school after Summer and it's the first Friday that after a hard week I didn't "slip up" in school by making poor decisions.

Today was a special Friday now that my school has implemented a new school policy, if a student gains enough points on their rewards sheets then the student has a reward period, free period you have the option of leaving at 1:30 or sticking around until 2:30.

Did someone say leave school at 1:30 oh yea, I could get use to this.

Because of my behaviour at school and at home I was able to use my reward period and go to my friends house. Its always nice to visit with my friends I only saw them a few times over summer and although we stayed connected over social media it was cool to just hang out in person and catch up on jokes.

My Mom picked me up after work and as usual she could lost on her way to my friends house. The woman has no sense of direction and will get lost in aisle 5 on a Saturday in Fosters. After my friend was able to talk her through the directions she got me and we were on our way home.

Home there's no place like home, me, my bed, my room, playing on my xbox, eating, sleeping - heaven. I plan on doing absolutely nothing but relax, recoup and reenergise this weekend cause I deserve it.

As usual my Mom had other plans for my weekend. She rattled off a list of chores I had to accomplish which of course I tuned her out grunting every now and then to make it appear I was tuned in.

This is where little brothers come in handy they can be annoying but for the right price an hour of play time on my xbox and chocolate cookies they can be bought. He didn't know it yet but his chore list had just increased, like I said I plan on doing absolutely nothing this weekend.
