Gaelic Football

My little brother has been trying out a few sports to see which ones he can get into. This weekend we went to Camana Bay to see if he would be interested in trying out for Gaelic Football.

This session was put on by The Cayman Islands Kids Gaelic Football Club called “Start of Season Blitz” – it was a free event and included training for children between the ages of 5 to 18.

The coaches started of by explaining what Gaelic Football was and there was a basic warm up for all players to get everyone familiar with catching and throwing the Gaelic Football and well as to learn a few techniques used .

It was mentioned that Gaelic Football is the most popular sport in Ireland however it seems be catching on in these parts of the world. From what I understand it is a mixture of football, basketball and rugby. The players are allowed to carry the ball in their hands, it can be kicked or hand passed. After every four steps the player must bounce of pass the ball.

Wikipedia states that it is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or punching the ball into the other team's goals (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goals and over a crossbar 2.5 metres (8.2 ft) above the ground (1 point).

XXX

This weekend I got a chance to watch the new Vin Diesel movie Triple X – Return of Xander Cage.

I gave this movie a rate of 4 out of 5. Mostly due to the action; which was over the top, and the perfectly executed stunts, you literally kept your eyes glued to the screen - the action was non stop it started within the first 5 minutes and kept going until the end.

It was great to see Vin Diesel aka Xander Cage doing something besides the Fast and the Furious. As usual his acting was dead, dry and boring, but he made up for it with a few stunts on a skateboard as well as surfing using a dirtbike and at times he was a bit humorous. The acting overall was blah, but each character had their special quality and delivered.

I was highly disappointed that the CGI effects was very noticeable and quite a joke in my opinion. How are you going to spend million of dollars on this movie and don’t have the CGI effects on point?

The plot is the same as in every story you come across someone steals a device that can cause havoc on the world and it is up to Xander Cage and his team to retrieve the device before it gets into the wrong hands and there is a mass causality. Neymar Jr and Ice Cube had a minor role.

This movie got me excited about the Triple X franchise I think it is the best one to date and I’m actually looking forward to another Triple X - If you get a chance to check this movie out in 3D I highly recommend it.
